The sweet, sweet sound of silence…

While our days are full of much laughter and fun, come 8 o’clock, it is a beautiful thing to be able to hug and kiss them goodnight and have, for the first time, some silence…Although, Andy just pressed the “on” button on the coffee maker, and I hear Jack in his crib humming with the grinder.  Jack loves coffee–black.  Not that he has it regularly, but I suppose it wouldn’t be bad if it stunted his growth (as he is in the 100th percentile for height and weight πŸ™‚
To kick off this sharing of our lives over cyberspace, I thought I’d give a bit of a “rundown” on our past months.  We moved to Indiana in August.  Andy is Director of Student Ministries at Christ’s Covenant Church.  http://www.christscovenant.org  We miss being near my parents, who were 30 min. away from us in Ohio.  But we love the church we are a part of!  I am at home with Miles (2) and Jack (1), and I’m so thankful to be able to be with them full-time.
Miles has had some health difficulties (diagnosed PDD-NOS), but he has made some HUGE strides, and we are praying he will continue.  He has speech, occupational, and physical therapists who come to our house every week, and they have been so helpful in advising and helping us.  Jack is just as crazy as can be, people say he reminds them alot of Andy.  They are both a blast, but so different.  They love playing in our yard, which is dirt because it was just built, and they haven’t seeded it yet…but the crazy thing is Jack will be covered in mud, and Miles won’t have a speck on him.  Or Jack has decided he likes running down the slide better than sitting, whereas Miles would prefer sitting next to me on the bench.
Andy sent me to Florida a few weeks ago to stay with Julie and Chris Mantegna for a few days, and Rachel Cowden flew out from Seattle.  It was a blast!  But the best part (well, besides the beach) was being there without any diapers to change, no responsibility (except remembering sunscreen), no screaming fits…and actually missing it!  It’s good to get a break, but it’s even better to know there is nothing better out there than hanging out with my boys.

Yeay, I’m so glad you’re writing on this thing πŸ™‚ It’s so much easier to keep in touch this way… for some strange reason. And what is this about you coming to Florida and not telling me!!??!!
