Love in Focus (June)

Summer is here! What lovely days we are having with family and friends. So often I wish we could slow time. We are doing our best to soak it all in, make memories, enjoy the ride.

Our June has seemed like we got to that point on an ol’ merry-go-round. You know that point when you realize there’s no sign of slowing. Then you either panic and jump off. Or you steady yourself, hold on tight and enjoy the ride.
Well, our calendar doesn’t show any sign of slowing. When I sat down and looked at all that needs accomplished this summer, and I just want to sit by the lake with my boys…I started to panic. Round and round we go. But we’re gonna try to hold on. Look for ways to steady ourselves, and enjoy the ride.
I have come to savor my morning walks. A time to cease striving and know who is God. Throughout the day, I think about those morning moments. It keeps me grounded on this spinning world. This is from one such morning moment:IMG_20130618_185722

Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow…
if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and gone tomorrow,
He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers,
but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and He will give you everything you need.
Matthew 6 (NLT)
