Graduates Banquet | 2017

Every year Peniel’s 1st year students put on a banquet for the graduates (2nd year students).

The theme, the menu, the decor– it’s all a secret until that night. I’m always SO impressed with what they’re able to pull off– with little resources and a LOTTA creativity.

This year’s theme was Pioneers of the 21st Century.
The undergrads all dressed up as famous pioneering missionaries.

They planned SUCH a thoughtful, compelling program– complete with a candlelight song about sharing our light, then at the end they passed their candle off to each of the graduates.

Look at my handsome dates!! {But please ignore the fact that my baby on the left appears to be taller than me!!}

Our oldest two sat at one of the “teen tables.” And our youngest took this picture of us.

Greetings from some dear former students and coworkers in the tribe

Andy doing his thing– inspiring us all to “fix our eyes.”
Which I’ve been thinking about ever since, inspiring this last post.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners,
so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
{Hebrews 12:1-3}
